When this is enabled Windows® tries to detect "black hole routers". These are routers that don't return the messages needed for adjusting MaxMTU while Windows® is negotiating the MTU value, which increases the number of re-transmissions required.
Black Hole Detection is Disabled by default. Activating this parameter when it is not needed can degrade performance. We don't advise selecting it unless you have a good reason for doing so.
